The Azúka Foundation, Inc. “A Foundation for Education” was founded in 2011 by Matt Malone, Founder and President Destilería Canéca, LLC as a conduit for contributing proceeds of his Spirits Brands such as Miami Club Rum™ with the goal of creating an organization that would have a “lasting and net-positive impact upon the community” surrounding his distillery; The Wynwood and Overtown neighborhoods in Miami, Florida.


After meeting with Mr. Malone and learning about his plans for the Azúka Foundation, Mr. Michael Kesti, a Miami businessman with extensive experience in establishing and managing non-profits, volunteered to take the position of Chief Executive Officer of The Azúka Foundation, Inc. and to direct its formation, development and oversight. And thus the Azúka Foundation became a reality.
